  15. How much steering wheel rotation do you like to use? Do you vary it depending on the style of car?
Great Florio vids you have, btw. LOVING the masterpiece you've created, but it's killing me so far, heh. I'll get there.

  16. 900° for all cars in the historic GT mod.
    540° for modern GT´s
    400° for F1 etc.

  17. Interesting! I've been using 300 for pretty much everything, but I'll start experimenting again, keeping your values in mind. Thanks for the reply, and great site. Love your hi-res pics.. just amazing.

So, I know you're getting a new vid card; What are your specs, overall? They're obviously quite high, judging from your pics. My rig is pretty moderate, and I can get RFactor running at 50-60 fps with maxed graphics settings (except with your course, that is), but it doesn't look like your pics!

Congrats on the new rig, btw!

  18. I´ve got a 460 GTX (2 gb).

But keep in mind that (if not stated otherwise) most of the pics you see on this blog are photoshoped.

  19. Yeah, I figured they would be.

I started trying 900 degrees for the HTTC Porsche 914 on the new Hills of Death circuit, and am having reasonable success. I expect a moderate learning curve, especially with these older, softer cars. I feel like I need to increase the ffb and/or tighten up the steering ratio in the setup. Do you adjust any of these? I feel like this is still "authentically acceptable," no?

Also, Touring Car Legends you would use with 900 as well, I guess?

But something like a BMW M1 probably 540? You think these settings/choices are fairly common with sim racers?

Nice vid card, for sure. You must be running a Pentium i5 or i7, or AMD equivalent. I'm still running an Athlon 4600 2.4 GB with 2 GB of system RAM and a Geforce 9500 GS (1 GB). You think increasing my system RAM would boost my fps?

Sorry for the huge post! haha.. Thanks very much, though.

  20. The FFB should be set up like described in the historX manual.
Or have a look at this threads:

    http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=242549

Steering ratio needs to be adjusted when using 900° (should be around 30)

    I am running a i7 950 @ 3.0 ghz

Upgrading more RAM is a no brainer, as they´re very cheap these days.
You would benefit even more if you have a x64 OS, installing the 4gb patch:

  21. Thanks for all the info! I spent quite a bit of time reading and trying one of the above setups, but for now I've settled on the newest RealFeel plugin that was released recently, and keep the mix at 90% and the smoothing level at 5. I've been playing RF for about a year now, but just now, thanks to your links, did I discover that adjusting the realfeel mix to less than 100% allows me to feel the tires losing grip. This was a huge breakthrough, and made some really challenging mods (DRM, Procar) quite drivable.

I've also totally switched to the 900 and 540 rotations you suggested, and find it very rewarding now as well.

I'm going to try the Nvidia fps fix that I found today, and see if that helps performance. I'll certainly try adding RAM as well.
I am in the market for an OS upgrade, but I hear that Win 7 is incompatible with GT Legends; is this so? I think I saw a fix for that..

What about using the full processor setting for dual-core CPUs?

Anyhow, thanks again for your continued support!

    Paul
